Project outputs
The PHR programme actively encourages research teams to generate their own project outputs.
We require research teams to inform us about all published work: written, audio/visual and electronic. We do not seek to suppress or alter your plans for publication, but it is important that we make the Department of Health aware, in advance, of published material. This is so that, if approached with a query about your work, the Department can provide an informed response. We require copies of all materials submitted for publication. We ask you to provide these at the time of submission or at least 28 days before the publication date, whichever is earlier.
Acknowledgements and disclaimers
It is important that the PHR programme is acknowledged as the funding source for the research it commissions. All outputs must contain an acknowledgement of funding and an appropriate disclaimer. Research teams are free to design their own forms of acknowledgement and disclaimer. The following templates are offered for consideration:
PHR Funding Acknowledgement
This project was funded by the National Institute for Health Research Public Health Research programme (project number xx/xxxx/xxx).
Department of Health Disclaimer
The views and opinions expressed therein are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the NIHR PHR programme or the Department of Health.
Output notification form
Please complete an output notification form for each output and provide us with a copy of the output at the time of submission or at least 28 days before the publication date, whichever is earlier.
If you are unable to provide us with the full final version of the output at the time of submitting the notification form we would be grateful if you could forward this to us as soon as this becomes available.
After research
Even after your project has finished, it is still important for us to track outputs from your research. This helps us to be aware of the dissemination of your project and to be able to raise general awareness of your published results through our own communications work. Please continue to let us know about outputs and provide us with copies of any published material.
