Assessment process

For both funding streams (commissioned and researcher-led), applicants are required to submit an outline application. Outline applications to the researcher-led stream will first be assessed for public health importance by the Programme Advisory Board. Those that are judged to be of high importance, and all commissioned outline applications, are assessed by the Research Funding Board, which shortlists those invited to submit full applications. The programme seeks comments from external referees on full applications prior to consideration by the Research Funding Board.

The Programme Advisory Board is due to meet in January, May and September during 2013 to discuss outline research proposals, research suggestions and briefs. View a list of current Programme Advisory Board members.

The Programme Research Funding Board is due to meet in February, June and October during 2013 to make funding recommendations on full proposals and to shortlist outline proposals. View a list of current Research Funding Board members.
